The 8 Pillars Formula

The 8 Pillars Formula

Eight sacred botanicals. Each one named in Scripture. Each one validated by modern science.

The Bible Supplement is a 730 mg balanced formula containing eight botanical ingredients that appear by name in the Bible. We chose these ingredients the way the ancients did — for what they are, not for what a label can claim.

The Bible Supplement bottle

A Formula Built on Scripture

Grape Seed Extract

Vitis vinifera — 100 mg per serving

“My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill. He dug it and cleared it of stones, and planted it with choice vines.”

— Isaiah 5:1

How it supports your body: Grape seed extract is one of the most potent antioxidant compounds found in nature. Its active compounds — oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) — are 20 times more powerful than vitamin C and 50 times more powerful than vitamin E at neutralizing free radicals. Research shows consistent benefits for cardiovascular health, including improved blood pressure, reduced LDL oxidation, and better circulation. The OPCs in grape seed extract also support collagen synthesis, which benefits skin elasticity, joint integrity, and blood vessel strength. For those managing blood sugar, grape seed extract has demonstrated the ability to inhibit certain carbohydrate-digesting enzymes, helping moderate post-meal glucose spikes. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it valuable for anyone dealing with chronic low-grade inflammation, which underlies most modern chronic diseases.

Cinnamon

Cinnamomum verum — 100 mg per serving

“Take the finest spices: of liquid myrrh 500 shekels, and of sweet-smelling cinnamon half as much.”

— Exodus 30:23

How it supports your body: Cinnamon has been studied extensively for its effects on blood sugar regulation, and the evidence is compelling. The active compound cinnamaldehyde mimics insulin’s action in cells, improving glucose uptake and reducing insulin resistance. Multiple clinical trials have shown that daily cinnamon supplementation can lower fasting blood glucose by 10-29% in people with type 2 diabetes. Beyond blood sugar, cinnamon is a potent anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agent. It inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria including Listeria and Salmonella. Its antioxidant capacity is among the highest of any spice — higher than garlic and oregano. Cinnamon also supports healthy cholesterol levels, with studies showing reductions in total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides in supplemented groups. The warm, familiar aroma of cinnamon also has documented effects on cognitive alertness and memory.

Dandelion (Bitter Herb)

Taraxacum officinale — 100 mg per serving

“They shall eat the flesh that night, roasted on the fire; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it.”

— Exodus 12:8

How it supports your body: Dandelion is one of the most nutritionally dense plants on earth, containing significant amounts of vitamins A, C, K, and B vitamins, along with iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Its bitter compounds — primarily taraxacin and taraxacerin — stimulate bile production and flow, which is essential for fat digestion and liver detoxification. The liver processes every toxin, hormone, and metabolic byproduct in the body, and dandelion’s hepatoprotective properties help keep it functioning efficiently. Dandelion root is also a natural prebiotic, feeding the beneficial bacteria in the gut microbiome. Its anti-inflammatory compounds have shown promise in reducing markers of inflammation in preliminary studies. As a gentle diuretic, dandelion supports kidney function and helps reduce water retention without depleting potassium the way pharmaceutical diuretics do.

Frankincense

Boswellia serrata — 100 mg per serving

“And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.”

— Matthew 2:11

How it supports your body: Frankincense — the resin of the Boswellia tree — contains boswellic acids, which are among the most well-studied natural anti-inflammatory compounds in existence. Unlike many anti-inflammatory drugs, boswellic acids specifically inhibit 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), an enzyme that produces leukotrienes — inflammatory molecules involved in asthma, arthritis, and inflammatory bowel conditions. Clinical trials have shown that Boswellia supplementation significantly reduces pain and improves function in osteoarthritis of the knee. It has also shown benefits for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis in controlled studies. Beyond inflammation, frankincense has documented effects on brain health — boswellic acids cross the blood-brain barrier and have shown neuroprotective properties in animal studies. The calming, grounding aroma of frankincense has been used in contemplative and prayer practices for millennia, and modern research supports its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects.

Olive Leaf

Olea europaea — 100 mg per serving

“And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf.”

— Genesis 8:11

How it supports your body: Olive leaf extract contains oleuropein, one of the most powerful polyphenols found in the Mediterranean diet. Oleuropein is the compound responsible for the bitter taste of fresh olives, and it is also responsible for many of olive’s remarkable health properties. Research shows that olive leaf extract significantly reduces blood pressure — in one study, it performed comparably to a common antihypertensive drug. It also improves the ratio of LDL to HDL cholesterol and reduces LDL oxidation, which is the process that makes LDL cholesterol dangerous. Olive leaf has potent antimicrobial properties, effective against a wide range of bacteria, viruses, and fungi — including influenza, herpes, and Candida. Its anti-inflammatory effects are broad-spectrum, and its antioxidant capacity is roughly double that of green tea extract. For blood sugar management, oleuropein improves insulin sensitivity and slows carbohydrate absorption.

Pomegranate

Punica granatum — 100 mg per serving

“On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, around its hem, with bells of gold between them.”

— Exodus 28:33

How it supports your body: Pomegranate is one of the most studied fruits in modern nutritional science, and the research is consistently impressive. Its key compounds — punicalagins and punicic acid — are unique to pomegranate and have extraordinary antioxidant activity. Pomegranate juice has three times the antioxidant activity of red wine and green tea. For cardiovascular health, pomegranate extract has been shown to reduce arterial plaque buildup, lower blood pressure, and improve blood flow to the heart. A landmark study found that patients with carotid artery stenosis who consumed pomegranate juice daily for three years saw a 30% reduction in arterial plaque, while the control group saw a 9% increase. Pomegranate also has potent anti-cancer properties, with studies showing it inhibits the growth of prostate, breast, and colon cancer cells in laboratory settings. Its anti-inflammatory effects are mediated through multiple pathways, and it has shown benefits for joint health in patients with osteoarthritis.

Mustard Seed

Sinapis alba / Brassica nigra — 100 mg per serving

“The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants.”

— Matthew 13:31

How it supports your body: Mustard seed is rich in glucosinolates — sulfur-containing compounds that convert to isothiocyanates in the body, which have well-documented anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. The isothiocyanates in mustard seed activate the body’s own detoxification enzymes, helping neutralize carcinogens before they can damage DNA. Mustard seed is also a significant source of selenium, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Its warming, pungent compounds stimulate digestive secretions, improving the breakdown and absorption of nutrients. For joint health, the anti-inflammatory compounds in mustard seed have shown benefits comparable to some pharmaceutical treatments in animal studies. Mustard seed also has antimicrobial properties, inhibiting the growth of bacteria including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. As a member of the cruciferous family, it shares the broad cancer-protective properties of broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts.

Myrrh

Commiphora myrrha — 30 mg per serving

“Take the finest spices: of liquid myrrh 500 shekels, and of sweet-smelling cinnamon half as much, 250 shekels of aromatic cane.”

— Exodus 30:23

How it supports your body: Myrrh resin has been used medicinally for over 4,000 years, and modern research is validating much of that ancient wisdom. Its active compounds — terpenoids and sesquiterpenes — have potent anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties. Myrrh is particularly well-studied for oral health: it inhibits the bacteria responsible for gum disease and tooth decay, and has been used in mouthwashes and toothpastes for centuries. For digestive health, myrrh stimulates gastric secretions and bile flow, improving digestion and nutrient absorption. It has shown benefits for intestinal parasites and has been used as an antiparasitic agent in traditional medicine across multiple cultures. Myrrh also has immune-modulating properties, stimulating the activity of white blood cells. Its anti-inflammatory compounds have shown benefits for joint pain and arthritis. The sesquiterpenes in myrrh cross the blood-brain barrier and have documented effects on mood and emotional regulation — consistent with its ancient use in prayer, meditation, and ritual.
