The Bible Supplement runs a partner program in which churches, ministries, nonprofits and individuals can earn compensation for referring purchases. This page explains who those relationships involve, how compensation works, and how the relationship must be disclosed to the people who see a recommendation.
Who this disclosure applies to
It applies to anyone who is compensated, or may be compensated, for pointing someone toward this product. That includes Ministry Partners running the fundraiser inside a church or nonprofit, Network Partners who introduce other ministries into the program, media partners, vendors, event hosts, and any individual promoting through a personal link or code.
It applies regardless of the channel. A pulpit announcement, a church bulletin insert, a table at a conference, an email newsletter, a podcast read, a text message, a YouTube description and an Instagram caption are all endorsements, and each one carries the same disclosure obligation.
How the compensation works
Compensation is paid when a qualifying purchase is completed through an approved referral link, code or other tracked referral method. The program pays a flat commission of $10 per qualifying bottle. Payouts run on a 30-day cycle and are sent by ACH transfer to the partner’s bank account. The specific terms that apply to any individual relationship are governed by the agreement that partner accepted.
Because a partner earns money when a purchase is made, that partner’s decision to recommend the product may be influenced by the business relationship. Anyone reading, hearing or watching the recommendation is entitled to know that before deciding how much weight to give it.
Where the disclosure has to appear
The disclosure belongs with the endorsement itself, in a place a person will actually see it before acting. It should not be buried on a profile page, dropped at the end of a long caption, hidden behind a “more” link, or placed only in a footer.
Plain wording works best. Something like “I earn a commission if you buy through my link” is clearer to a reader than an abbreviation, a hashtag or a vague reference to a partnership. In spoken formats — a podcast, a livestream, a sermon announcement — the disclosure should be spoken, not only written in the description. In video, it should be on screen long enough to read, not flashed.
For a church or nonprofit running the fundraiser, the same principle applies to the congregation: the people being asked to buy should understand that the ministry receives a portion of the proceeds. In practice most ministries find that stating it plainly helps rather than hurts, because the fundraising purpose is the point.
What partners may say, and what they may not
Partners may describe their own honest experience with the product and may explain what is in the formula, since every botanical and its amount is printed on the label and published on the ingredients page.
Partners may not make false, misleading or unsubstantiated statements. Two categories matter most:
- Health claims. No partner may state or imply that this or any dietary supplement can diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent a disease. That includes indirect framing — before-and-after stories, naming a condition alongside the product, or implying a medical outcome through testimonial.
- Earnings claims. No partner may promise, project or guarantee an amount of income, a revenue figure, or a financial result for another church, ministry or individual. Describing how the program mechanically works is fine. Telling someone what they will earn is not.
Testimonials should reflect the honest experience of the person giving them, and should not be presented as typical or expected results for anyone else.
Oversight and reporting a problem
The Bible Supplement does not control every statement a third party makes. We review partner materials when they are submitted to us and we act on reports we receive. If you see an endorsement that looks misleading, that makes a health or income claim, or that fails to disclose the relationship, tell us and we will look into it. Referral relationships can be suspended or terminated for repeated or serious violations.
